The Facts

Buchanan was named one of the most corrupt members of Congress five times by Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, in part for his involvement in a straw donor scheme similar to the one Postmaster General Louis DeJoy has recently come under fire for.

He also has a history of paying his family hundreds of thousands of dollars from his campaign and  has paid his own companies hundreds of thousands more.

Most recently, Buchanan has come under fire for taking millions of dollars in PPP loans for his car dealerships, despite being the fourth wealthiest member of Congress. One of those loans did not even save any jobs. He also was conspicuously absent for a vote that would have disclosed PPP loan recipients and refused to provide an explanation to the Tampa Bay Times for his absence.
